$52.90
25% offDouble-sided, for collections that outgrew the desk.
The Whalebone Butterfly holds keyboards on both sides of a central spine: two boards per level, four, six or eight in total. It is the stand for a shelf, a sideboard or the middle of a desk where it can be seen from either side.
Sizes and starting prices
Measurements are for the 4" shelf support width. The 8" and 12" versions are 8.0 in (203 mm) and 12.0 in (305 mm) wide with the same depth and height.
| Configuration | Width × depth × height | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| 2 levels, 4 keyboards | 4.0 × 9.1 × 6.1 in (102 × 230 × 155 mm) | from $40 |
| 3 levels, 6 keyboards | 4.0 × 9.1 × 8.2 in (102 × 230 × 209 mm) | from $50 |
| 4 levels, 8 keyboards | 4.0 × 9.1 × 10.4 in (102 × 230 × 264 mm) | from $72 |
Specs
- Holds 4, 6 or 8 mechanical keyboards
- Fits 60%, 65%, 75%, TKL and full-size layouts on every width; the shelf support width (4", 8" (+$5), 12" (+$10)) sets how much of the case is supported, not which keyboards fit
- Each shelf holds up to 10 lb (4.5 kg), enough for aluminum and steel boards
- Optional cork padding on every shelf so cases and feet stay scuff-free and the board does not slide
- Optional USB-A and USB-C cable cut-outs (+$3)
- Nine colors: six solid, three metallic (+$10)
Why it works
- Two boards per tier — the highest capacity in the lineup.
- Viewable from both sides — designed for open shelving and shared spaces.
- One solid print — no assembly, no screws, no wobble.
Details
- 3D printed to order in plant-based PLA with a smooth matte finish
- Made and shipped by Things Things Things LLC in Brooklyn, New York, USA
- Configure tiers, width, color, cork and cable cut-outs live in the 3D builder at whalebone.shop
- 30-day returns on non-custom items; lifetime replacement for defects
- Keyboards in photos are for reference only

“Beautiful product that was the perfect organization solution to my growing keyboard collection. The style is sophisticated and clean, its not too heavy but feels sturdy and I love that it's easy to move around during cleaning, etc. Love this addition to my work set up!”
“Great stand for storing/displaying multiple keyboards while taking up minimal space! Came packaged well and ready to use right out of the box. Might be pricey for what it is, but this may be the last keyboard stand you'll ever need, if you prioritize maximizing space!”
