Our Story

How It Started

It started the way it starts for a lot of us — one keyboard turned into two, two turned into five, and suddenly every surface in the room was covered. I wanted a way to actually display them, but everything I found was either flimsy, generic, or way too expensive for what it was.

So I started designing my own. Armed with a 3D printer and too many late nights in CAD, the first Whalebone stand was born. Friends in the community wanted one. Then strangers on the internet wanted one. What started as a personal project became something real.

You might know us from our earlier days as IterStudios — same founder, same craft, new name.

How It's Made

Every stand is made to order. No warehouse full of inventory — yours is printed fresh, finished by hand, and shipped directly to you.

We print with PLA+ and metal-infused PLA+ — durable, lightweight materials that look and feel premium. Each stand is hand-polished and inspected before it ever leaves the shop.

Why Whalebone?

Whalebones are strong, lightweight, and elegantly structured — exactly what a great display stand should be. The name felt right.

But Whalebone is more than a product. It's a small, one-person operation built on the belief that the mechanical keyboard community deserves accessories made with the same care they put into choosing their boards. Every stand is crafted in the US with attention to detail that mass-production can't match.
